Founded in 1897, the National League of American Pen Women, Inc. (NLAPW) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports and promotes professional women in arts, letters, music, and allied professions.

  • DC Women Journalists

    Join us at Pen Arts in Washington, D.C., 5-7 p.m. on May 22 for a panel discussion with journalists featured in DC Women 2024. This event is co-sponsored by NLAPW and National Women’s Foundation. Contributions are welcome for scholarships for DC high school women to study journalism in honor of Ethel Payne, “First Lady of the Black Press.” Pen Arts is located at 1300 17th
    Street NW.

    The Central Ohio Branch invites you to visit the heart of Ohio in Columbus next spring to share your creative voice at the NLAPW Biennial. The 51st Biennial will feature presentations, networking opportunities, performances, celebrations, and more. The theme honors celebrated Pen Woman Georgia O’Keefe.
